| "That was when the Space Needle set in the West. We all knew it would have to sometime. What we didn't know was this: would it ever rise again? It had been guiding us for some time, and soon twilight would become the pitch black of night. My own thoughts were interrupted by the people's many speculations. I walked to the top of the hill between the Three Towns to hear what they all had to say. I sat and soaked up the last rays from the Needle while I listened. Self screamed now, Authority shouted never, and Truth whispered someday. The Three always complimented each other nicely, this was why I could never live in one of them, or two. My thoughts balanced, I fell asleep atop the hill. I dreamed of the Future. One future in particular. When I awoke, the land around me was illuminated by, for lack of a better word, a moon. Its silvery light sang in the valleys and danced on the mountaintops so very far away. No one in these towns would ever reach the mountains in the west again, though they would go West in time. The people were mesmerized by the new light and unfamiliar constellations. I walked down the hillside, feeling reassured. The day would come again, but the night was beautiful as well."

| I used to think that True Love was supposed to be painless.
That idea got shot down by Irvin. Irvin shot down lots of my ideas. Lots of my ideas were wrong. Irvin could read me like a book. It was a good thing, too.
"So if True Love is painless, I suppose Jesus didn't suffer on the cross, did he?"
Irvin was very good at shooting down my ideas, it was wonderful.
How many of us can say they'd die a painful death for another? Lots, I bet. How many of us would die a painful death for another?
You'd like to say you would, wouldn't you?
